“Pray for him! Now!”
I was sitting in bed, sipping a mug of chamomile tea, when I was suddenly seized with this urgent impulse to pray for a friend.
It was so urgent, in fact, that I threw back the covers & immediately knelt down by my bed.
“Father,” I whispered, “what am I supposed to pray?”
I hadn’t seen this friend in a while. I had no clue how he was doing or why he might need prayer.
But I had recently finished studying the Armor of God in Ephesians 6. So I took what I had just learned and plunged into prayer. I went through each piece of the armor, asking God to guide my friend in understanding & applying each one. And, as I said “amen” and climbed back into bed, I realized how valuable my Bible study had been!
You probably also know the value of Bible study. But have you taught your kids to study the Bible?
Summer is the perfect time to do it! 😉
