Have you ever used a spiralizer before?!
I hadn’t. But:
- I’ve been trying to eat more veggies (because more veggies = more nutrients = feel better!)
- I’ve been seeing all these spiralizer dishes on Pinterest that make veggies look so fancy and appealing.
So I asked for a spiralizer for my birthday. (Is that weird? To ask for kitchen gadgets for your birthday? Oh well. I’m unashamed.)
Anyway, my mom was sweet enough to order me one.
And let me tell you… that thing is SO MUCH FUN!!
Spiralized apples? Check. Spiralized beets? Check. Spiralized sweet potatoes? Zucchini? Cabbage? Onions? Check, check, check, and check!
Addictively fun–and the most gorgeous, fancy results. Like this here salad:
It’s just greens + spiralized apple, beets, & cucumber + snow peas. Sweet and simple. But the spiralizer makes it look super fancy! 🙂
Soooo… who wants to guess what I’m going to spend my summer doing?!?
If you guessed “spiralizing fruits & veggies,” you’re wrong. (Yeah, I know, I set you up for that one. Sorry. 😉 )
Actually, I’m here to tell you I’m heading off on a summer hiatus from the blog. Because for our family, summer = camp! AKA the absolute craziest busiest time of year.
But it’s the best kind of crazy-busy. 😉 And if you and/or your kiddoes have never been to summer camp before, I highly recommend it!
All that to say, though, ain’t nobody got time to cook right now–never mind blog about it! 😛 So sorry, but I’ll see y’all after summer’s over.
And in the meantime, if you don’t have one of those fancy-schmancy spiralizer thingies… well, you should think about getting yourself one. 😉
